Il y a plus d'un an de cela, j'ai été contacté par le co-editor de Grafik magazine pour participer à un nouveau joli projet, le 'The Purple book' !

Plus qu'un simple nouvel artbook d'illustrations contemporaines, un vrai concept se cache derrière ce projet. En effet, chaque illustration est accompagnée d'extraits et de citations des mouvements artistiques et littéraires qui les ont inspirés, tels que le symbolisme et le surréalisme.

Pour accompagner la sortie du livre qui sera en juin, une page facebook a été spécialement créé, pour aider à la promotion du livre et du travail des artistes qui ont contribué au livre. Je vous invite à aller faire un tour sur cette page, sur laquelle vous pourrez voir les dernières créations et projets des artistes participants, mais également les premières images du livre !

More than one year ago, I was contacted by the co-editor of Grafik magazine to participate in a pretty new project: 'The Purple book'

Not only a new artbook of contemporary illustrations, a real concept is behind this project. Indeed, the book features the work of contemporary illustrators alongside extracts and quotes from art and literary movements that have inspired them, such as symbolism and surrealism.

To accompany the release of the book in June, a facebook page has been specially created to help promote the book and the work of of all the contributors. I invite you to visit this page where you can see the latest creations and projects of the contributors artists, but also the first pictures of the book !

The book has 220 pages and features interviews with five artists and illustrations of twenty international artists and illustrators. Published by Laurence King Publishers. Soon available for sale here

My illustration

Il y a quelques jours j'ai fait une interview (en anglais attention !) sur les secrets de "fabrication" d'une illustration. L'interview consistait à parler de tous les outils qu'on utilise pour faire une illustration en donnant toutes les marques pour que les internautes puissent après retrouver les "outils" directement sur internet. Une interview très précise puisqu'ils ont même étaient jusqu'à me demander la marque des gâteaux que je mangeais quand je dessinais et la musique que j'écoutais :)

Talk a little bit about yourself

I’m a French illustrator based in Paris specializing in fashion illustration and portraiture. I studied graphism, illustration and animation at L’Ecole De Communication Visuelle in Bordeaux, France where I was graduated in 2005.

Since then, I’ve worked for three years in the animation industry. As I wanted more creativity and drawing in my life, I decided to become a freelance illustrator, my real passion! I have exhibited my work in America and France.

What/who inspires your work?

I’ve always been inspired by women in general. Some women inspire me a lot especially when I can feel a part of mystery inside them.

I like to collect fashion photography I find interesting because of the posture or the look. And when I start a new illustration, I pick among them. In my collection you can find: Taylor Momsen, Audrey Hepburn, Cintia Dicker, Kate Moss, Abbey Lee, Anna Selezneva.

But I’m also inspired by decoration. I read decor8blog every morning. I’m also inspired by a lot of illustrators, too much to name them but these last days, I especially love Art and ghosts, Xiaxi Zhang, Terakado Yukari.

A few days ago, I've been interviewed (in english !) about the secret "weapons" of an illustration. I had to talk about all the tools I use to make an illustration providing all the brands. The questions were so specific that they even asked me my favorites cookies'brand and the music I listen when I draw :)
