Interview Vice and Virtue

Une interview (en anglais) sur le site de Vice and Virtue. Je dois dire que j'ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à répondre à cette interview car il faut dire que les questions étaient très ciblées et très intéressantes.

As a visual artist, what gives you more pleasure; working on your own creative concepts or working according to a defined client brief?
Ëlodie: This might seem strange, but in many cases I prefer working on a client brief; it gives me new challenges… new problems to solve. I always try to improve my style so it’s very important to me to test my skills. I like to have rules and time restrictions, but it’s hard for me to be totally satisfied with everything I produce. And despite what you might think [client] briefs don’t always prevent creativity.
Your work seems to have an extremely elaborate process between the initial pencil sketch and the final product; how long do you spend, on average, with each phase of the illustration before it’s ready to be seen by the public?
Ëlodie: For me, there are three phases: the composition, the sketch and then the digital colorization. I begin to create a composition from pictures and sketches; I try to make it as complex as possible because I need to establish an idea of what the final illustration will look like (lights, colors, etc…). This phase takes about half a day’s work to complete.
